Mon Ami Gabi or Hugos

Those of you who read my posts know that we do not generally frequent the finer dining establishments of Las Vegas. We generally enjoy the 24 hour cafes, delis, food courts, etc.

This trip, however, I%26#39;d like to check out either Mon Ami Gabi or Hugos for an early dinner. Which would you recommend . . . and why?

Mon Ami Gabi or Hugos

Both are good-depends on where you are basically. If you%26#39;re downtown go to Hugos..if on the strip go to MAG. They are both decent steaks for a reasonable price. If you do MAG go for lunch, I believe the menu is less expensive, same food. Reservations a good idea at either place.

Mon Ami Gabi or Hugos

I have eaten at both- Hugo%26#39;s quite a few times and MAG once. I was disappointed with MAG. The food was o.k.- but just o.k.-not great. I waited for an outdoor table (I wanted to see what that was all about) and I did not consider it a great outdoor experience- masses of humanity walking by you (some staring up at you), tables close together, the strip traffic not far away (and all that entails) and I heard the sirens wailing 6 times! I would not go back. I have gone back to Hugo%26#39;s because you get fantastic food, fantastic service with a fantastic atmosphere. To me there is no comparison- it would be Hugo%26#39;s every time. Definitely make reservations- you will not be disappointed.

Mon Ami Gabi at 5pm when they open the patio for dinner. No reservations taken for the patio. It is nice to people watch and enjoy the Bellagio fountains. Plus the food is good and reasonably priced, depending on what and how much you order.

ate at both last year-would have to be Hugos just for the whole eating experience. Treated very well there. Nothing wrong with MAG but not the same class imo.

I agree with everyone choosing Hugos over Mon Ami Gabi. MAG seems to be more hype and though they are good, they are not as good as Hugo%26#39;s. Maybe since Hugo%26#39;s is downtown they try harder...

Two totally different dining experiences!...MAG is a French Bistro, which means oysters, country pate, steak frites (a thinner, different type of steak) and a casual ,lively atmosphere...Hugo%26#39;s is old style Vegas ( still cool, though, for exactly that reason)...and the crowds seem to skew older and more conservative, IMO....Hugo%26#39;s has the big,old fashioned salad presentation and many old style Vegas entrees...a great flashback...go to both places, and thank me later.

We have eaten at both. Hugo%26#39;s is in the basement, and was pretty noisy, but had better table presentation. MAG is great for patio dining, and I like the food at both. For me, MAG is preferrable because of the patio dining and opportunity to see the fountains, but Hugo%26#39;s had better food. Depends on what you are looking for.
