Which Restaurant Locals??

We are coming to visit Reno once again late March. We are down to 1 of 2 restaurants, and would appreciate your input.

Should we choose Michael Bros. Steakhouse, or Famous

Murphys? We%26#39;re looking for something not too awfully expensive,

good food, and good atmosphere.

Also, is it worth it to just go down to the Riverwalk area

to see it?

Looking forward to you solving our questions!

Many thanks!

Which Restaurant Locals??

The riverwalk area isn%26#39;t worth a special trip. However if you are in the downtown area it is a 5 min walk. So it might be worth a trip to Wingfield park to see if anything is going on. The Kayakers are fun to watch as they play in the rapids.

I am not much into resturants. I have heard good things about the Steakhouse at Harrahs. Then again there is the steakhouse at the Nugget in Sparks (some friends who are into food ate there and enjoyed it. There is the Steakhouse at the Pepermill. I have eaten there and it was good. The only negative was the setting didn%26#39;t remind me of a steakhouse. Then again most things at the Pepermill are over the top.

Which Restaurant Locals??

I%26#39;ve eaten at Famous and it%26#39;s good - white tablecloths, not too dressy- what you would expect from a slightly more upscale nice place. I have a Reno friend who has eaten at Michael Bros twice and does not recommend it. I asked her why and she just scrunched up her face, so for what that%26#39;s worth. She%26#39;s a business professional and eats at a lot of places around town so I%26#39;m taking her word on it.

Note that both of these places are south of downtown and you%26#39;ll have to drive or taxi.

I like the Riverwalk area when I want a break from the claustrophobia, smoke and noise of the casinos. Must be the sound and sight of the rushing river.

Note: if you do want to splurge (and we%26#39;re talking about $75 per person incl wine and drinks before dinner) try Lulous on South Virginia. Great atmosphere and service.
