MGM/Mirage Players Club

I know that you accrue points on the card and can check them on machines, correct? My question is if you have to be proactive in having them use your points towards your stay (i.e, room and food)? Or, in the alternative, is it automatically applied to your room?

Thanks in advance.

I don%26#39;t believe it%26#39;s automatically applied. At least, I%26#39;ve never experienced that (maybe if you%26#39;re a high roller is is?). What I do is stop by the players club every night to see what I%26#39;m eligible for.

Thanks for the input.

can%26#39;t speak for mgm/mirage, but for the Harrah%26#39;s group, you have to ask at checkout to have your points used.

Charge everything from MGM properties to room go to Players Club prior to check out and see what they will comp.

Also, be aware you get free-play or point play in this case, on top of comps, go to Players Club set up a PIN # and you can check your Point Play you earn - when you have earned I believe the minimum is $10 you can chose to use it vs. your money, they no longer give cash back. You will want to do this prior to finishing gambling as you probably want to use it on this trip.

So random the MGM/Mirage players club is. Charge everything to your room and be prepared to pay it off prior to leaving if they do not feel like comping it. I gamble at Detroit and so does my sister (more then me) and we have figured there is no rhyme or reason for their comps, ect. I get more then her and gamble less.

One thing I do suggest is to hook up with a host as I did and you will get better offers.

Another thing is you are close to Windsor so try gambling at Ceasers Windsor and Harrahs props you will get more free rooms from them.

Thank you all for your responses. Sharon, I see that you gamble at the Detroit MGM. I have been there a number of times myself. I personally find this place depressing. It seems like there are a lot of people there who probably shouldn%26#39;t be gambling. Meaning, people who don%26#39;t appear to have a lot of disposable income. Obviously it is their choice, but I find it depressing nonetheless.

I am looking forward to the new MGM that they are building down the street.

Getting a host will not help get better offers. You earn them or you don%26#39;t. It is a numbers game. It is difficult to get many comps for table play. With Player%26#39;s Club they want you to charge everything to the room and they will see what they comp (if anything) at the end of the stay. Total rewards gives you points and x amount of points gets you y amount of comps. Very straight forward. I do like the properties player%26#39;s club has though.
