Allrgith, flight leaves LAX 12:35 PM (domestic), I figured out I need to be at LAX around 9:30 AM to drop of rental car and so on. I was thinking about leaving Vegas around 3 A.M, one problem I will most likely hit rush hour traffic when I aproach LA... is this doable?
I guess it easier to drive to LAX the day before and stay at the airport hotel, but I want maximum time in Vegas...

Driving to LAX from Vegas early morning, doable?
Depends, but a drive from Vegas to LA is 4 hours. Should be able to make it

Drop the rental in Vegas, take a $40 flight from LAS to LAX and be there in an hour.
I agree with mjb, fly. But then I hate to drive anywhere!
6.5 hours should be plenty of time. If you%26#39;re lucky and everything goes smooth, you have plenty of time for breakfast and a nap!
You never know with LA, what the traffic will be like. I%26#39;ve watched the fox %26amp; CBS news down there for years, and one accident can freeze the freeway for hours.
Hope all goes well for you.
If you leave at 3AM from Las Vegas, you should make LAX by 8AM. It should leave you plenty of time to spare. Good luck.
Just be careful.... I don%26#39;t know what you have in mind exactly, but I know if I were leaving Vegas at 3 AM I would probably end up staying up till 3 AM and then driving. But that%26#39;s a bad idea because it will be very easy to fall asleep at the wheel driving across the desert like that.
My advice is to get some sleep before you make that trip. Hopefully that%26#39;s what you had in mind anyway...
The idea of flying is a good one, also, but if it%26#39;s with a different airline, don%26#39;t forget to factor in time to pick up your luggage and then go check in with your other airline when you arrive at LAX - I%26#39;d allow at LEAST an hour for that.
Your time frames are good. If you leave at 3 AM and average 70-80 mph (just don%26#39;t get caught speeding) you should hit the outskirts of L.A. by 6 AM, which will give you almost an hour before the really crazy rush hour traffic hits. Remember you have to get all the way to El Segundo, so whil you might be in Ranch Cucamonga and that area by 6 AM, you may not be at LAX till 9 AM, but I doubt it would be more than that.
I haven%26#39;t booked anything yet... that%26#39;s why I%26#39;m asking for ';advice'; first!
Just to make driving imposible, I double checked the proposed flight details, flight leaves 10:15 am... so driving to LAX during the night is out of the question.
