First trip to Vegas - will be there 3 nights with husband and another couple (in our 30%26#39;s). Should we bother trying to see a show or not? We%26#39;%26#39;ve seen Phantom, Mamma Mia, etc. in NYC and DC...I%26#39;ve also seen a Cirque show years ago in Orlando - it was neat but not sure I need to see another one in this lifetime?!?!
Since we%26#39;re in Vegas - it should be something we can%26#39;t see anywhere else - possibly Zumanity (even though it%26#39;s a Cirque show)- because it%26#39;s Vegas and things are supposed to be risque there right?? or another ';tasteful'; strip-type show??
We%26#39;re staying at Flamingo -how is Second City?
or any other ideas (not into Elton or Celine or Toni Braxton!)
To see a show or not??
I agree there%26#39;s not much point in seeing something you%26#39;ve already seen. The good news is that there is such a wide variety of shows in Vegas, from old school topless revues , to comedy shows, magic acts, celebrity impersonators, hypnotists, musicians, musicals, dinner theater, and miscellaneous like Blue Man Group. I have no doubt that you could find something that meets your tastes. But if you%26#39;re not sure, you can always wait until you arrive and visit the half-price booth for same-day tickets.
Of course, some people would rather just spend more time gambling, drinking, or pursuing other interests. That%26#39;s something only you can decide.
To see a show or not??
if you%26#39;re on the fence about a show, maybe just play it by ear... if one day during your trip you say, ';you know, i really do want to see something...'; then you can head down to the tickets for tonight booth and get 1/2 price to whatever sounds interesting to you.
IMO, i wouldn%26#39;t plan ahead if you don%26#39;t have a clear idea of exactly what show you want to see... ya know?
Go to the Wynn and see Spamalot!
Haven%26#39;t been to Second City but most folks have not liked it recently. You may want to consider the Improv instead or George Wallace. Mac King is another good option for something you won%26#39;t be able to see anywhere else. Your best bet may be to look at the listings on vegas.com. There are always a lot of headliners coming in and out of town and that may help the decision making process.
Leo21- thanks for the info on Second City - I%26#39;ll keep that in mind if we decide to see a comedy show (we%26#39;ll take everyone%26#39;s advice and wait until we get there to decide). thanks
3 nights isn%26#39;t very long.... I agree, wait till you get there and decide. I will say this: You could go see either Jubilee or Price is Right at Bally%26#39;s and not lose a shirt on the price. Jubilee was the first show I saw in Vegas and thought it was a lot of fun. I was staying at Bally%26#39;s and got the tickets for free. Flamingo is close and you can get a ticket for maybe $60. You could go see Price is Right during the day and save other fun for night time.
I tend to always want to see a show, but that is why I keep trying to lengthen my stays in Vegas.
