I am pleased to announce a Meet and Greet at the Atomic Liquors.
Hosted by the Chitowngambler and the Mailman.
When - 3:00 pm Thursday, March 22, 2006, yes there is still plenty of daylight at 3:00.
Until ???? – I don’t know, what do I look like a fortune teller?.
Where - Atomic Liquors, 917 Fremont St., Las Vegas, NV 89101-5401
How to get there – Get in any taxi cab,.give the driver the address, when you get there, pay the cabby and wait to be buzzed in the front door.
From the Fremoint Street Experience, just walk east away from the Plaza, head for the sign that says WESTERN, pass the sign and you will be within about 100 feet of the Atomic. You know the drill.
How to get back? – A taxi cab will be called, when it comes, you will be poured into it and whisked away, or just walk back to the FSE..or, we may just stumble on to other establishments in the area, we will figure that out when the time comes..
What to wear, anything but you have heard it all before, keep it casual.
Why – Well since we plan to be drinking there anyway, so why not?
Actually, so others may get to know this fine old establishment and hopefully, if they are there, hear the tales of its owners’ Joe and Stella with a few well known screen names along to pave the way. They have regular bar drinks at neighborhood prices, a fine juke box, 2 pool tables and video poker at the bar.
But is it safe? I ask you, is anywhere in life really “safe”?
I can tell you that:
I have never had a problem there,
Mailman has never had a problem there.
Loomis has never had a problem there.
LoneTraveler has never had a problem there.
Countless others have been there and enjoyed the place without mishap, speak up folks.
Ok, if all that doesn’t do the trick, your SECOND can of Busch is on me. How’s that for an incentive?
So post your intentions here AND message me if you are coming.
See you there.
Meet and Greet at the Atomic Liquors 3-22-07
This is one week from today.
Meet and Greet at the Atomic Liquors 3-22-07
I have only been to a meet and greet at Ellis Island and we were but a small group in a very busy and loud place that was not really setup for us.
I understand each one is different.
Unless it is super busy at the Atomic, a rare thing these days, we should be able to take over the back part, where Casino was filmed.
I hope we can keep it loose and play it as it comes.
At the Atomic, I expect it to go like this:
Hello, on line my screen name is _________________ but my real name is _______.
Hellos all around.
Look around the place.
Meet the owners if they are there, no guarantees on that but they usually are.
Chat with them a bit.
Play some pool.
See what is on the jukebox.
Dance.
Drink.
Get buzzed into the bathroom.
Drink some more.
Repeat.
A lot of mundane stuff like:
How is your trip going?
Where are you staying?
Have you ever _____?
All the while, a torrent of drinks will flow.
When we are done there, we go our own ways now able to put faces to names or some of us may move on to another place in the area.
Unfortunately I won%26#39;t be there until the first part of April, however, I did have a dream about it last night (You know you TA too much when..............) and everyone had a great time!! It was nice meeting you Chitown! LOL!
Lots of times the place seems like a dream but Ijust blame the cheap booze.
You will be missed but check the place out for yourself come April.
Certainly will do, and looking forward to your TR when you return!
For those who have never been, here is a photo of the sign in front of the Atomic facing west. It%26#39;s hard to miss . The luxurious Western Casino and Hotel and Resort of Last Resort is in the background and if you could look far enough to the right, you would see the FSE canopy a couple of blocks away. http://maisonbisson.com/blog/post/10562/
Trying to shove it all into a suitcase, somehow.
Be there wheels on tarmac at this time tomorrow
Hope to see you at the Meet and Greet on Thursday.
Strange
As we all do, I%26#39;m planning (as much as is possible) my August trip and having previously read chitowns affection for atomic liquors it%26#39;s on the list.
Staying downtown for a weekend, just have to, didn%26#39;t even get downtown last time.
Fitz is front runner followed by MSS.
Enjoy your trip
