Golf in Vegas

Hi

Am coming to Vegas next Mon 26Mar for 5 nights. Am coming by myself as meeting a friend in Phoenix on 31Mar for a 7 night golf break. I know a few websites that offer discounted tee times in Phoenix and sometimes we buy the Southwest PGA pass which gives us reduced green fees.

Are there any good websites/programs that offer discounted rates for golf in Vegas?

Vegas courses seem a lot more expensive than Phoenix and I%26#39;ll probably only try and have 1 or 2 rounds in Vegas if I can pair up with someone.

I%26#39;m staying in The Suncoast in Summerlin %26amp; I%26#39;m an average player (18 H%26#39;cap) so don%26#39;t particularly want to pay over $100 for a round so any info/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Rod

I think you will be hard-pressed to find a decent golf course under $100 in March unless you try a twilight rate. The typical low-end rate is around $150.

Check out the course reviews at Las Vegas Golf (http://www.lasvegasgolf.com) and see what you like.

You have quite a couple things working against you.

1. Under $100 limits you to only a very few places in town to play this time of year. Angel Park right by where you are staying is one of them. However you wil not be able to play the better of the two by you called Badlands for less than $100. Other choices are Tuscany. Desert Rose, and Paulte resorts. You will need a rental car to play any coarse you choose.

2. Doubtful you are going to get any discounts using booking agents because you are a single player. Most will not book (niether will the coarses) singles.

Now donty let being a single discourage you, because you can play any coarse in town you want. All you have to do is walk on and play stand-by. Most visitors book doubles and triples, so there are lots of holes for the coarse to fill with walk-ons. Not too mention is a lot of times a lot less expensive than internet booking b/c no middlemen parties involved. Just show up.

Green fees in LV are just like the hotels, they vary by time of day, time of week, and time of year. Right now is the most expensive time of year and weekend mornings are always the highest fees. The least expensive periods are winter and summer mid-week twilight rates.

My advice is bite the bullet, pay the fees, drive up to Mesquite and play Wolf Creek.

wow, i was going to ask the same Q. coming in @ the 23rd , is it better to rent a car to drive around looking for golf courses or a cab fare is cheap enough . i don%26#39;t know if i should even bring my clubs now ?? $100 and over is way too much .

If you%26#39;re planning on checking out courses and looking for standby games as VHB describes then definitely rent a car. Virtually all courses are a large cab fare from the Strip or Downtown.

three things go to vipgolfservices.com or to waltersgolf.com check things out then try to find four people to go with then take a limo should be able to get one for about 60 dollars there and back divided by four is very good examle ---friend went to crazy horse golf course area near henderson from strip said it was 40 dollars each way but only paid about 60 -80 dollars for golf with cart which is pretty resonable that was for afternoon after approx. 200 pm cheaper doesnt get dark until about 7;00 now

by the way dont book through the agency do it when you gt there aint that busy

77777. a rental car is the only way to go. A cab fare can run up to $50 one-way depending on the coarse. To play at the really nice coarses more like $200 and up, some go as high as $500 like Wynn.

Green fees rates vary a lot like I said. Come here in July, play in the afternoon, and rates are dirt cheap. Only problem is ambulance fand hospital fees double, but hay you won%26#39;t need a raxi back to the room :%26gt;)

boulder creek (boulder city) a decent 27 hole course is 50 dollars after 3pm for resort guests

boulder city golf course which is different from boulder creek is cheap too

its a golf COURSE. how can you write ';golf coarse'; time after time?
