Going April 1-4, staying at TI. I drink a ton of water and don%26#39;t want to pay gift shop prices so would like to stock up at a drug store if there%26#39;s one close. I%26#39;ve stayed at TI a few times but haven%26#39;t noticed one close by. In the mall next door, maybe? I have problems walking long distances so would like to find something as close as possible.
After last year%26#39;s $16 package of Nyquil and $5 bottle of water from the gift shop, I%26#39;d like to be a little more well-prepared this time, so I%26#39;m taking aspirin, Nyquil, etc. in my checked luggage, but with airport regulations now will have to buy water when I get there.
Second question - I heard a lot about crowds in Las Vegas for March Madness but haven%26#39;t heard anything about the championship game which is April 2. Does that draw as big a crowd?
Thanks!
A couple of different questions
have your cab from the airport stop by a walgreens or a grocery store.
A couple of different questions
Yeah, stop at a Walgreens or a CVS Pharmacy. If ya can%26#39;t do that, the closest I know to TI would be the ABC store in Fashion Show Mall.
The NCAA Tournament final game (and Final Four), while a major event in the Vegas sportsbooks, draws in far less folks than the first round weekend (which is second only to the Super Bowl in action) or the upcoming Sweet 16 weekend (which is in the top five of annual events).
The main reason is that here are far fewer games in the Final Four weekend (just three games versus 48 in the opening round weekend), so there is far less betting action and a greater demographic appeal for the followers of 64 teams instead of just 4.
Plus, it is really fun during the opening round because there are so many games happening at once and everyone has dreams for ';their'; team, so there is day long betting, shouting, cursing, and drinking.
Also, Vegas is one of the few places were you can have all the games in progress during the first couple of rounds on screens in front of you at once...something you could never do at home. But everyone can watch all the games in the Final Four on their home TVs.
Along with walgreens and CVS there is a shop in the desert passage very good prices. We have also gotten water at the Hawaiian Mkt 2 for $1.00
Thanks for the responses. Now it makes sense to me about the ball games.
We%26#39;re thinking that since we know now that there%26#39;s an ABC store at the mall next door, we may be able to get by without any checked luggage and just pick up things like hair spray, etc. there to use while we%26#39;re there.
Every trip I take, I swear I%26#39;ll bring half as much next time and try to get by without having the long carousel waits when I get there and when I get back home. And ';next time'; comes around and once again, I pack enough to last twice as long as I%26#39;ll actually be there.
It would be handier to have the taxi stop at a Walgreen%26#39;s or CVS as suggested, though. Just wondering if the amount it would add to the meter would cancel out the savings of buying water, etc. someplace besides the gift shop.
