I am going to Vegas March 30 - Apr 2.
I booked NYNY for $509 (3 nights) with 2 Free Drinks, Park Ave Upgrade, 2 fo 1 Breakfast and Lunch, etc.
Yesterday I saw MC offered $399 (3 nights) with 2 for 1 buffet and 2 for 1 drink.
For $110 difference, which hotel do you recommend.
We think NYNY will offer more nightlife, and are worried about the construction near MC.
And I think MC has a better pool area, do they have hot tubs?
For $110 in savings what would you do?
Thank you.
Monte Carlo vs. NY NY
The time you will be there might not be pool weather, it%26#39;s a very fluctuating time of year to be in Vegas weather wise. You might be able to sit by the pool though.
I%26#39;d say NYNY, it%26#39;s more fun and livlier than MC.
Monte Carlo vs. NY NY
For a $110 saving I%26#39;d definitely switch to MC. I wouldn%26#39;t worry too much about the construction - I havn%26#39;t seen any problems posted recently.
There%26#39;s no guarantee that it will be pool weather during your stay but if it is, MC%26#39;s pool is far far superior.
Thank you both for your response, one more layer to my question.
Since the weather may not be pool weather, I%26#39;d still be interested in the Hot Tub. NYNY%26#39;s site say Hot Tub open year round, but I have not seen any indication that MC has a hot tub (?).
pool area at NYNY is nothing special, I would choose Monte Carlo because of proximity to Bellagio, etc. It is so close to NYNY, walking there would not be a problem.
Monte Carlo does have one heated pool and hot tub open year round.

Not sure if beginning of April is pool weather yet so don%26#39;t know if all the pools will be ready but if the choice DOES come down to pools the Monte Carlo is much better. They have a large hot tub, a very warm lagoon, a wave pool and a river run. The Casino it%26#39;s self is quiet, not the nightlife of NYNY. MC is very close to the MGM NYNY corner so you can still enjoy the nightlife.
hmmm, temp today at LV is up to 82 degrees, what am I doing freezing my butt off in Ontario Canada at just below freezing. A hot tub sounds soooo wonderful right now.
Hands down- Monte Carlo
Monte Carlo had some of the best rooms I have ever stayed in. The beds were very comfortable and it was spacious. Also- the pool area is great.
NYNY had a little more going on in the casino- but that was it.
We%26#39;ll be at the MC at the same time and i%26#39;m hoping for Pool weather. We picked it mainly just as a little nicer than some, good price, good pool, and not bad for location. Last time we were at the Mandalay, great pool, but a little far South. I%26#39;ve been down there 4 different times during late March and the weather has been warm all but once and it was still in the 70%26#39;s that year. It%26#39;s really just a luck thing, but I%26#39;m sending out my positive vibes for some sun.
Thank you everyone. The MC deal is now 120 cheaper. I can think of alot of things to do with an extra 120!
I think I might end up there..
Buyamonkey - Check the rates, they went down again today. For your trip I saw it for about 65 a night.
Well, I%26#39;m one Vegas Addict who has to have the local temperature there constantly showing on my home computer. It has been a very warm March lately. Several days have been in the upper 80s already. If this pattern holds (and who knows for sure if it will!) then the pools may be opening a bit earlier this year. I%26#39;d say go with MC, request a room in the south wing (away from Project City Center) and hang out at night at NYNY. It%26#39;s within easy stumbling distance-you don%26#39;t even need to cross LVB.
Lets not forget about the City Center Project right next door to the MC, with all the construction noise that will continue for four more years.
