Every time I go to Vegas, regardless of how many days I stay there, I don%26#39;t use my room for anything other than sleeping, and shower.
I leave in the morning, and come back late at night for sleeping.
That is why, the room size, the view, flat screen TV and any other luxury is not important to me.
I was wondering how many of you do that, or how many of you stay in your room during the day, to relax, watch TV or whatever.
How much time do you spendim the same as you, which is why ill be staying at the IP in a few weeks. any money saved on the room is more money i can use to have fun with. im not going to vegas to hang out in my room, im going to gamble/drink/eat/see the sites.
How much time do you spendSince I go to Vegas a lot, I stay in the room to relax. I go to Vegas for fun and to relax with the wife so we stay in the room and that is why the view means something to us. When I go with the Boys I could care less as long as I have a clean bed.
For as little as i%26#39;m in my room i should really just sleep in the rental car. Last trip for example, i was there 5 days and was in my room a total of maybe 10 hours.
i can understand spending more time in your room if you are able to make it to vegas fairly often. for me, its about once a year, so i need to make the most of my time there. i dont want to be in my room unless im passed out. i can watch tv when i get home.
Loomis, sounds like you slept in someone else%26#39;s room!
I spend most of my time gambling or seeing the sites. Any ';down-time'; is usually spent somewhere other than the room.
The only quality time spent in my room is the morning. We always have coffe and/or breakfast from room service while the wife is getting ready for the day. Having a luxury room for that couple of hours is very important to us. The luxury room makes us feel like we are high rollers for the time we are in vegas(even though high rollers we are not). And for us the illusion that we are high rollers is an import part of our vegas experience.
Maybe I am unusual in this regard, but for me, my hotel room becomes my ';home base'; while I am in Vegas. It%26#39;s where I plan my adventures, where I go for a nap or just to get away from the constant barrage of sights and sounds that is Las Vegas. Sometimes I wil retreat to my room after a particularly huge meal to rest for a bit before heading back out. I don%26#39;t need gold bathroom fixtures, turn-down service or a plasma TV, but I do need a clean, comfortable and quiet room. If my room has, mold, stains, an odor or other things - I can put up with them, but they will detract from my overall happiness and comfort.
So yes, I do spend time in my room during the day, and therefore I do have some minimum standards for comfort and quality.
Until last year we%26#39;ve gone for the larger suites most often. We enjoy having a large room to relax in. Maybe it%26#39;s because we have 3 dogs and a cat running around at home all the time. It%26#39;s so peaceful, and we don%26#39;t have to set alarms to go anywhere. No work.
We have room service dinner brought into the room at least once. And several times have breakfast brought in. As a slot player the odds aren%26#39;t with us on the casino floor.
It%26#39;s kind of like spoiling ourselves because it%26#39;s vacation.
We were at the Venetian on the Sept 11th. We stayed in our room watching the coverage for days. Going out and about to get a rest from the coverage. We were glad we had the larger suite.
Like Dragon, Stratton and Lowrance, when I%26#39;m with my wife I look at Vegas as indulgence. Big tips, bets, and suites etc. At home we are much more simple homebodies. That%26#39;s why it%26#39;s so much fun...
The room is part of the indulgence for me! I have 2 kids ages 3 %26amp; 5 so the peace %26amp; quiet is really appreciated. I also enjoy room service and a nice view.
