TR - 3/15 -3/19 DAY 1 (March Madness Rnds 1&2) rather long

We arrive at LAS at 8:05 am, hurry to luggage and grab a limo to the GN. Arrive in time to place 1st round, 1st game bets! Which did not turn out well! should have got in the cab line and would have saved money (at least on the games) ..

Rooms were not available till 1 pm so we had breakfast/lunch at cafe next to the AWESOME pool. Service was slooow but they were busy. Not a problem to me, rest of my group was a little hungry and getting upset ... Keno kept us occupied.

Went down Freemont. FYI Glitter Gulch IS open. We did not make it in though so no report. Took my gang to The G Gate to show everyone the best Skrimp! (I know its Shrimp but you don%26#39;t know my gang)

Lost at $5 craps and W-o-F slots and went back to GN to check in. Line was long but moved very fast. Based on TA I thought it was going to be 45 mins, more like 20.

Rooms were as expected. Nice for Freemont. I would put them equal to ballys or luxor. Low water pressure is an issue.TA posts are correct south tower is a long walk to get to Freemont or casino etc. Next time I would pay the extra $20 for North tower. (We tried for comp upgrades (it was my B-day ..) and much like my luck at the craps table, NO DICE! , Hotel was really full!) It was MM Baby...

Spent afternoon on Freemont. Hit 4 A%26#39;s on VP at bar in the 4 queens. brought me close to even. horrible drink service at 4Q%26#39;s. B-word (mid aged) bartender who has been there about 7 years - she will smile and act nice and then charge you for drinks when she knows you are playing. I%26#39;ve never had a good experience at this bar and 4Qs had no waitresses to serve my family playing slots / VP. Good thing I took $200+ from them and left. I don%26#39;t know why we keep giving this place a try....Oh wait, Did I mention 4Aces!! It must be the money.

Went back to room to nap before dinner at Binion%26#39;s. Dinner at 6pm . Great time for reservation, went up to 24th floor while still daylight. Great view of Freemont and strip. As night falls, you get to see the ';lights';. This was our second best meal on the trip. 6 people 3 course meal steaks/wine $280 tip included. (comp dessert for me as B-day boy)

Being a beef expert .. I was a little dissatisfied with the 21oz. porterhouse (It was tough and thin) I would cal it a 18 oz. T-bone at best! Then again, I%26#39;m from Texas (A%26amp;M that is!). The rest of my group loved the prime rib, fillet, and NY strip.

Spent the rest of the night at Main Street Station - VP / Berlin Wall / $5 Craps / $2 pints of home brew beer all = Great time for all. Went to bed around midnight (vegas time) which equates to a 22 hour day since we woke up at 4am Houston to start the trip.

Day 1 - Lost lots on Craps, GN setting was very nice, GN service not very good, Binions Ranch SH was good value, good food , MSS good gambling/beer value.

Things to Come on days 2-4 - Aladdin update, a trip to Cashman convention center, Green Valley Ranch and One of the Greatest meals in my life - Rosemary%26#39;s.

More to come...

TR - 3/15 -3/19 DAY 1 (March Madness Rnds 1%26amp;2) rather long

Welcome back! And thanks for posting, sounds like a fun time had by all, will look for your next installment. Thanks for the review of the Steakhouse also. And you have a very good attitude, seems like the mishaps rolled off your back pretty well. Always a good way to be when traveling in a group.

Foxwood,

I had lots of big mishaps in the sports book .. but that is a whole other story.

Even after a financial beating, I%26#39;m ready to go back. (and so is my Fiance, which means I may actually get to go back soon! )

Remember, It%26#39;s just money, you can always make more!

Cannot wait to read the rest....

hurry..lol
