How far in advance are shows for New Years%26#39; announced? We know we need to book ASAP but not much has been announced yet.
If you have been to Vegas for New Years%26#39; how have you spent it?
Spending New Year In Vegas
As I have said before you don%26#39;t have too many choices UNLESS you book for a show which is expensive on NYE. You will not be allowed into any property that you are not staying at, as you have to show a room key to get in (security reasons I guess). So that leaves walking the strip, which with the crowd will take you all night anyway, staying at your own hotel (but if you want to see the fireworks at midnight make sure you head out by no later than 11:00 to get a spot to stand) or booking a show/club reservation which will cost you plenty. Too many people for me anymore, much preferred our trip in March and even though we were there during the start of Nascar, nothing like over NYE days.
Spending New Year In Vegas
please tell me what hotel casinos would not allow you in unless you were staying there
We were staying at the IP and told by a cop on the street we could not get into say of the hotels on that end of the strip without showing a room key. Also tried getting into Harrha%26#39;s (who owned the IP at the time) and could not get in!
We expect Vegas to be thriving, it is NYE for god%26#39;s sake! Does anyone have any info in relation to my original question?
I am not sure how far in advance you can book a show. We went for NYE this year but did not see a show. I would pick out some shows you are interested in and call directly if no info. is up on the websites.
We spent the evening of NYE at Risque (Paris) and had a blast!
We had a wonderful time for NYE and would do it again.
Did you stay at the Paris?
Is it true that you are not allowed to enter any other hotels other than your own?
Are drinks sold out on the strip on NYE?
Unless they mistake you for a street urchin you%26#39;ll be allowed access to any property.
We stayed at Bally%26#39;s, so we had access to Paris and Ballys that night. It is true that you cannot enter other hotels after a certain hour. I think we stayed at Bellagio gambling until about 8 or 9 pm and then went to Bally%26#39;s/Paris for the rest of the night.
We went to the party at Risque, so we were able to watch the festivities from their patio on the Strip in front of Paris. I doubt that they are selling drinks on the Srip, as the crowd is toooo big for that. Imagine Mardi Gras but on a larger scale, as the STrip is so much longer than Bourbon Street.
We have spent almost every NYE in Vegas for the past decade. We have never been denied access to a hotel because of the lack of key.
As to shows, decide what you want to see and book it directly with the theater ASAP. Expect to pay much too much. I don%26#39;t do shows on NYE weekend, too crowded and too much trouble. Just to go from one end of the Strip to mid-Strip is a major problem that night!
I go to a cocktail/dinner party at the resort I am staying at (I%26#39;ve done NYE parties at Venetian, Caesars, Paris, Harrah%26#39;s, Mandalay Bay and Luxor) and then catch the fireworks on the Strip. By 1:00 a.m., I%26#39;m at the BJ tables, but not necessarily at the casino I%26#39;m staying at. Never any hassles getting in. But for NYE, I%26#39;m wearing a good suit or a tux.
they sell drinks on the strip or just off it but no glass plastic only
