18 days and counting. How do you pass the time on the flight?? I will be flying from Boston to LV... approx. 6 hours non-stop. Just can%26#39;t seem to get into reading even though I am an avid reader. Can%26#39;t concentrate on movie or listening to a book on tape or music. Maybe just to excited to be on my way to LV. Have tried having a few drinks but that just makes me tired when I arrive. I will be flying out of Boston at 5:30pm... arriving 8:30pm LV time. Any suggestions?
Passing time on flight
I write stories about everything that has happened or is going to happen on my trip. Or play sudoku until my wrist goes out. My last flight had Bejeweled on our personal video screens. That certainly killed some time.
Passing time on flight
No. :)
You%26#39;ve already ruled out the things that everyone does on a flight to pass the time. If you can%26#39;t read, watch a movie, listen to music, or get drunk, you%26#39;ve exhausted all of your possibilities except sleeping and joining the mile-high club. (Which not only won%26#39;t go over well with your fellow passengers but it%26#39;s also extremely unlikely to last 6 hours...)
How about a gameboy or hand-held poker machine?
Crossword puzzles, playing cards with my husband (if you%26#39;re alone there are all kinds of forms of solitaire that don%26#39;t take up the space of a conventional game), staring out the window at the clouds or what%26#39;s below...
I buy a boatload of scratchoffs, the ones that take a long time to do-I have a 4 hour flight. Last time I bought like 50 bucks in scratchoffs, the crosswords, etc that take awhile-I was finishing off my last one as the captain announced our descent into LV. It was awesome, the time flew, and I was up 10 bucks! Great way to start the trip!
You could play 20 questions with the passenger next to you. People love that.
I%26#39;m with you paulamos.... no way I can read, if I booze it i can%26#39;t last the night when I get there and most movies are hard to really submerge myself into. And I absolutely HATE flying.
I went and bought a PSP (the personal play station thing) although an ipod video or anything similar will do and rather than watch movies I watch episodes of light hearted sitcoms that you can buy on DVD such as Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, etc. I do sometimes watch light hearted movies as well but mostly just enjoy my sitcoms.
Just a suggestion.
At least you only have 6 hours - I have 11.5 from the UK!!!!!
I can never sleep or watch the films - I usually just end up annoying my partner who is trying to sleep!
although I do not condone self-medicating- what I would do is sleep for those 6 hours (if you can naturally relax on a plane- even better. I require sleeping pills)- you can nap the entire trip and be wide awake when you get there- Vegas is 24/7 so there%26#39;ll still be plenty to do by the time you get in!
I normally take a hand held game to play. Or as long as its not me the 20 questions to the person sitting next to you is pretty funny.
It can be worse: sunday 1st of april I fly out of Brussels to NY (8 hours) then on to Las Vegas (another 5 and a half hours). I could read 10 news papers in that time :D
