Thinking about NY NY. Looks like fun, but afraid it caters to children and I would not want to be around a lot of kids. Its this a problem at that hotel? If so what is better for adults late 30s?
Thank you,
New York NYim 21 and the atmostphere in NY NY was very nice ... i did not stay in the hotel but i did go gamble there a bit....
and if your looking to eat good one night - check out gallaghers - food was amazing
New York NYwhat about it ';looks'; like fun? What feature are you attracted to? IHave you seen NY?
kids are an issue everywhere depending on your dates - will school still be in session? is it during the week?
what works for you will depend on the amenities you want - age not so much a factor as your likes/dislikes. tell us what you want and don;t want, dates, price range
I don%26#39;t remember seeing anymore kids at New York New York than any other casinos in that area (like MGM or Luxor.) It%26#39;s definately not as bad as Circus Circus.
I wouldn%26#39;t consider it to have lots of kids. I try to avoid casino%26#39;s with lots of kids...and I would definately consider staying at NYNY, in fact my husband actually wanted to stay there for our next trip (but I talked him into the Signature). The atmosphere is very ';fun';. We always enjoy spending time there.
I don%26#39;t recall seeing any when I was there in December. I%26#39;m in my late twenties and we had a good time there. Maybe there%26#39;s kids because of the coaster or ESPN Zone, but there weren%26#39;t a lot. And it helps to not go during school breaks.
I don%26#39;t think NYNY has any more kids around than any other place. unless you are going on the roller coaster, then you will run into many.
I don%26#39;t think it is billing itself as a family oriented hotel so it won%26#39;t have more kids than anyplace else. In fact- I think it is trying to draw in the younger hip crowd- if anything.
It%26#39;s party oriented but not snobby, I%26#39;m mid-forties with a young attitude, I love playing the slots in front of the Apple Bar and singing and jamming to the dance music - today back to the 80%26#39;s. Love the deuling pinaos - in Time Square. Love you can get a quick bite or a nice dinner, love the Irish Bar sing along to the Irish Music. Haven%26#39;t been to this Coyote Ugyly but sure it%26#39;s similiar to the one in Austin and others. This is not a be seen, I%26#39;ve got to look my best, it%26#39;s about having fun and not giving a #O*#@O*.. I used to stay at Bellagio totally comped and gave it up for NY/NY last year as it is just a more relaxed atmosphere. Good gaming too. I would say anyone 21-55 would enjoy. There are not alot of kids as other than small arcade and roller coaster there nothing there for kids. By the way I%26#39;m leaving in 10 hours for a 4 day trip there 2nd time in 2007, can%26#39;t wait!
Like you I dont like kids running around all over the place.I have stayed at NYNY twice and it is a great hotel the difference is as has been pointed out the entertainment is superb in there dualing pianos I thought was the best but enjoyed the irish bar even more one not to miss great sing alongs at night and in the day you can sit on the balcony and watch life go by on the strip.
