Mon Ami Gabi vs Delmonico's

For what is essentially steak night, which one? We are staying in the NY-NY. So cab fare for Delmonico%26#39;s or walk down to Mon Ami Gabi. Are they equally amazing or is one far better than the other?

Mon Ami Gabi vs Delmonico's

Mon Ami Gabi is not a traditional steakhouse. If that is the experience you are looking for, go with Delmonico%26#39;s.

Mon Ami Gabi vs Delmonico's

yes what are frites?

Frites are very thin, crispy french fries.

You really cannot compare the 2 restaurants. Delmonico is a traditional steakhouse, whereas Mon Ami Gabi is a French restaurant that serves several steak dishes. Both are great in their own right, but Delmonico is much, much better when it comes to steak.

Is Mon Ami Gabi the restaurant in front of Paris where people can sit outside and eat?

Sure is. Havent been to Delmoinicos so cant comment on that - however have been to MAG. Went approx 18 months ago and was hugely disappointed. Both hubby and i had steak - hubbys a master butcher and we were so disappointed. Could have been just a bad night but didnt enjoy at all.

MAG may fall under the ';steakhouse'; category, but it%26#39;s not a steakhouse in the American sense of the word. It%26#39;s more of a French bistro. The steak au poivre I had was tasty but very small by typical steakhouse standards. Why not consider Gallagher%26#39;s right there at NYNY?

Agreed...MAG did not live up to its billing when we went. But Delmonicos was nothing short of awesome!

completely agree, Delmonicos wins hands down for steak, MAG has a great position for sure right opposite Bellagio and you can sit outside on the terrace, have eaten there 3 times, once was good the others not so good. Prime @ Bellagio is also very good for steak.

While I agree with the above posts that MAG is not a traditional steakhouse, I wasnt thrilled with my recent dinner at Delmonico%26#39;s. The service was fantastic, no doubt about it. But for $50-$60 steak, I want to be wowed, and I wasnt. I have also eated at Circus Circus Steakhouse - while much cheaper, the steak was also just ok. If you are staying at NYNY, you can try Gallaghers, which I think is a little less pricey than Delmonico%26#39;s, with good service and steaks. In the meantime, my quest continues for a LV steakhouse comparable to NY%26#39;s best - any suggestions?

We ate at Gallaghers and did not like the food nor the service. I have eaten at MG and enjoyed it. The service was great, the food good, and the view from the terrace looking out at the Bellagio fountains amazing. The CC steakhouse was very good, and we make it a point to always eat there while in town. Can%26#39;t beat the price. Must make reservations at least 10 days in advance. Another good steakhouse is Del Friscos.

Enjoy!
