Lots of walking Reboks just don';t cut it anymore

Hi, We are in our 50%26#39;s and Love walking the Strip. I need a good pair of walking sneakers or shoes. Last two times we went not only my feet but my one knee (surgery long time ago) really hurt. Never happened before. I know a lot of it has to do with the shoes because I have purchased new reboks and felt better.

Saw the posting on crocs. I am a 1/2 size so seems like they might not work.

Any suggestions. We love to walk and we love to hike the canyons. This May we are going to the Valley of Fire.

Any suggestions.

Your pain probably should be discussed with your doctor as it%26#39;s probably specific to you.

My wife%26#39;s had both knees done with arthrospopic surgery.

She takes a variety of tennis shoes. Anything from Reebock, Nike, LA Gear, New Balance, or this one brand called Etonic w/ Stability System. Whatever her head tells her to take at the time.... Nothing specific.

spopic?...lmaoooo it%26#39;s a new surgery...

One more on this Pattie..... our doctor sent us to a foot doctor, who straightened us both out with some orthotics. Might want to ask your doc if he can okay a trip to one for you.

i agree with lawrence, that you should either be talking with your GP or a Podiatrist - just to make sure your body is okay first.

after years of killing my feet in cute adorable strappy sandles, i just couldn%26#39;t take the pain anymore and went to a Podiatrist. i%26#39;m now wearing orthodics inserts in most of my shoes (and the strappy sandles are down to a ';special occassion'; only thing!)

but, that all being said. there is a brand of shoe called Mephisto. i%26#39;m assuming they%26#39;re available in the states. they have their own stores, and also sell certains lines through stores like: Walking on a Cloud %26amp; Feet First. Mephisto also has a website.

They are apparently designed to properly provide the right arch support while walking. i gave in and bought a pair, and seriously, they are the most comforble shoes i own. They are expensive though, mine cost $300 (and they were on the cheaper end of things).

I%26#39;m in my 50s, I%26#39;ve had bunion surgery on one foot and I have a Morton%26#39;s neuroma on the other. I love to walk but it can really be painful if the shoes aren%26#39;t right.

I bought a pair of Ryka walking shoes and so far I like them better than any I%26#39;ve tried in the past. Used to alternate between New Balance and Avia because both were comfortable in different ways. The Rykas feel like I have pillows inside my shoes. They%26#39;re extremely comfortable and they were around $65.

Going to Las Vegas April 1 so that%26#39;ll be the true test.

Hi, Thanks all. Did talk to my MD. She figures since I had surgery cartledge removed I should find a good walking shoe. Nothing Showed up in xrays. So Now I will try new walking shoes.

since your Dr has suggested better shoes look at Helle by Romu. They are a handmade shoe, from Spain, have inserts, great footbed and are fabulous. find them online if your local boutique does not carry them.

mephisto my second fav

Be sure to break em in GOOD before you head to Vegas! And I%26#39;m not a doctor, nor do I play on one on TV, but I have foot problems and find I need to change shoes/sneakers/sandals throughout the day, at least one change. By mixing it up you hopefully let an abused part of your feet take a break in another shoes that has different supports etc.

Thanks, Will check the web site for those shoes and will switch off shoes too that is a good idea. I will even get my husband to switch off too. It makes sense to me.

Thanks for the help. Nothing ruins a great time if your feet and knees hurt.

Can%26#39;t wait till May 19th!!!
