I just received a brochure from Harrah%26#39;s for two free nights in each of the upcoming months (May, June, and July). Since I am already going in two weeks (April 9-12), I probably wouldn%26#39;t be able to make it back until July. It so happens that the free nights they are offering me occur during the first week of July, so I ws thinking of the 3rd and 4th. How are the activities out there during that time? Lots of Fireworks? How are the crowds during that time. Thanks!
July 4th in Vegas
I%26#39;m going to be out there that same week for my anniversary, and apparently there%26#39;s, like, NOTHING special. Disappointing. You%26#39;d think the locals would be mad. I wonder if it has something to do with fire risk???
July 4th in Vegas
There is really nothing worth mentioning going on July 4th on the strip. The Strat usually has a few fireworks(not always on the 4th) and that is about it. All the 4th celebrations occur off strip-you will need a car to get to them. This is what was available last year- look at the date for the Strat events:

Red White n Boom is probably the best of the bunch but it is far off strip.
i%26#39;ve seen on the travel chanels that the shoot fireworks off every building and you can see the display for miles because it%26#39;s so big.
We planned a trip to vegas just for this reason. We will be there July 1 - July 5.
They do not shoot fireworks from every building on July 4th!! There are only a few lame ones from the Strat and maybe one other hotel-none are worth it. The big fireworks display- many hotels, many fireworks- that can be seen for miles around occurs on NYE!!! I know -I was there on both July 4th and NYE for seven years!
The locals can go to local events- not on the strip! The biggest one is Red White n Boom at a park. From last year-

i was in vegas on 4th july last year and caesars did a pretty impressive fireworks display
As a local I can tell you there is nothing special at all for tourist, and not much better for local citizens. LV is very anti-patriotic.
The Red White and Boom at Desert Breeze Park is pretty lame compared to even small town events you find east of the Rockies. Since the 4th falls midweek crowds will be very light, hence the offer. So if you are looking for something exciting to celebrate the 4th, LV is about the last place to look for it in the US.
What few fireworks are set off is not worth going outside for on the strip. There is no coordination between those that do (you can count them on 2 fingers) and ususally not done on the 4th.
vp03 sounds exasperated...
You could go to Laughlin and watch the fireworks from the river. That%26#39;s where I%26#39;ll be, as usual.
Definitely nothing major on the strip though. The new year%26#39;s fireworks this year weren%26#39;t even that great. Sometimes we just park on Sunrise Mountain and watch the whole town%26#39;s fireworks and run from little kids who are for some reason allowed to have the illegal bombs.

No, I just don%26#39;t want anyone coming to Vegas expecting a display like the ones on NYE. It ain%26#39;t gonna happen-unless they change things this year. Actually, I didn%26#39;t think the RWnB fireworks were all that bad. I don%26#39;t feel I am celebrating the fourth unless I see fireworks!
