Extra charges

I will be arriving at Bellagio in less than 2 weeks. I want to be prepared for whatever charges and or holds I might concur upon check in or check out. I looked all through the Bellagio website and could not find any information about resort fees, security holds, etc. Could someone please share their knowledge on this subject?

Extra charges

Call and ask the management.

Extra charges

Definitely no resort fees (though I guess that it%26#39;s only a matter of time before a lot of Vegas hotels introduce these). Security holds on credit cards are the same as at all major hotels. I wouldn%26#39;t really call this an %26#39;extra charge%26#39;. It may only be a problem if your card%26#39;s close to its limit.

No resort fees??? ALRIGHT!!! I%26#39;ve been paying resort fees for years when traveling to places like the Caribbean and Florida. No concern here about maxing my CC. I%26#39;ll never do that unless I put the down payment to a bmw on it. Thanks for the quick reply.

Be sure you understand that ';resort fees'; are different than the ';security holds';. You probably do since you%26#39;re a seasoned traveler, but others may be confused.

Resort fees would be the small ($5-15) charges some places may want you to pay for electricity, water, towel service at the pool and junk like that. Usually that is built in to the cost of the room rate but places are starting to nickle and dime more ';fees'; recently. Some folks have had success disputing these ';fees'; with the desk upon check out.

If you%26#39;re asking if they put a hold on your CC for any charges you may make to the room. - most places have a $100/ per night hold (i.e. 3 nights, $300 on hold until checkout). I%26#39;ve not stayed at the Bellagio so I can%26#39;t speak for their policy. If it%26#39;s not clearly stated on your reservation confirmation I would certainly call them.

I just called Wynn (I%26#39;m staying there in 13 days!!!) and they only have an incidentals hold of $150/day.

They place a new hold every day, so $150 for day one, then another $150 for day two.

If you didn%26#39;t charge anything to the room, they%26#39;ll release the hold and you will never see the charge. It will only show up as a pending charge, but once they release it, the pending charge will go away.

What I wish they would do, and they don%26#39;t because I asked, is go ahead complete the charge at checkout and apply it to the room rate since the money is tied up a bit.

It also seems that the rate is going to vary from Hotel to Hotel.
