Maybe it%26#39;s already been brought up in here before, but I just saw an ad about the El Cortez (downtown). They now offer game-side dining. They have a specific menu and your meal is delivered to your game on a small roll cart, like a room service cart. They will serve you at any game except Craps.
I guess this could be a good thing for those who are too addicted to get up, or maybe they are on a hot streak and are about to fall over due to malnutrition?
The part that grosses me out is eating a sandwich while touching the dirty slots, chips, money, etc. Ewwwwwww.
I expect the next concept in gaming will be duel use seating... you%26#39;ll never have to get up to go to the bathroom again!
Ewwwww @ me. heh... sorry fellow tripsters. :)
Dine without leaving your game!
yeah, this is old news - maybe some don%26#39;t know - no harm in mentioning again
Dine without leaving your game!
You know, in some of our local casinos the cocktail waitresses will order food from the cafe or deli for players and bring it right to the machine. I, personally, am grossed out about the thought of someone not mashing their hands after touching a machine and before eating. Plus, you know grease from the food will reach the buttons...
For convenience it%26#39;s nice, but as far as being sanitary - it really grosses me out!
My last trup when I was sitting at the same machine the entire day and COULD NOT leave, the slot man- actually a couple of them offered to order me something and get it for me. I thought that was very nice. I declined, but that would%26#39;ve been very convenient since the only reason I ended getting up was I was starving..(okay and had leg cramps like you wouldn%26#39;t believe) I can%26#39;t stand seeing people eating while they%26#39;re driving, don%26#39;t know if I%26#39;d want to see somebody shoving down a burger while playing.
BUT I bet this service might be nice for some people.
Loveland - come up to Cripple Creek to see people eating hot wings and playing VP. It%26#39;s quite a sight! (gag)
I gotta go with Laura on this one...how would you like to be the next person at the machine? or the person who has to clean up all of the machines? I%26#39;m sure there are people who use this service, but I don%26#39;t think I would. However, if they come up with a valet service where someone watches my machine while I run to the bathroom, I%26#39;d be all over that!
In Blackhawk some of the casinos do that and many people use it!
Thanks for the info ripgirl. This is new news to me!
I%26#39;ve only drank at the machines. I guess I%26#39;ve never sat in one place long enough to actually require food! Besides, I%26#39;d have to get my greasy little fingers all over the machine buttons. I like getting a break from the machines, by sitting down in one of the great restaurants in Vegas.
Loveland, admit it. You were flirting with the security guard to get freebies!
I%26#39;ve got to admit that I love this idea. I go to Vegas to gamble and if I%26#39;m on a roll I hate to leave to eat. I play the majority of my VP at Bill%26#39;s Bar at Harrah%26#39;s and if I get hungry Bob the bartender will watch my machine while I run to get a burger at McD right outside the door. I come back, eat my burger, wash my hands and continue playing. Ya gotta love Vegas.
I hope it is a very bland menu. I would hate to be sitting next to someone who was eating something loaded with onions or garlic. If fact- I really don%26#39;t want to eat while I am gambling or sit near anyone who is eating.
I think I was one of the earlier posters of this news, and my understanding is that it is at table games only - not at slots. Thery were going to start it the week after we were there.
Still, the thought of playing roulette next to someone eating lunch isn%26#39;t very appealing- if his number hit, they might need the Heimlich maneuver!
I did see some reference to a menu- and if I%26#39;m not mistaken it%26#39;s a pretty limited selection- but I was surprised to see ribs as one choice- I can%26#39;t imagine a messier choice .
We%26#39;ll be back there in late April- maybe someone will fill in details before that- if not, I%26#39;ll see if it seems to be happening- we have no plans to dine and play.
