Tacky or Rude???

Is it rude to take turns standing in line at a buffet. We are going with a couple for their first time and I thought we could give each other a break and rotate and go gamble or walk around while the other two wait in line. It will be Easter Sunday so I’m thinking it’s going to be a long line.

I think if a pair of you is in line and only one other couple joins you (I personally hate it when a MASS of people get to jump in), this is fine and wouldn%26#39;t be considered rude - especially if it%26#39;s clear to people that you%26#39;re not just bumping into them and letting them in, but that you all plan to dine together and have been waiting for them to join you in line.

its no too bad,but its mor about the impression those behind you get. sometimes it looks like friends just show up and get to cut in line,but i guess 1 person being casual about it wont cause much grumbling behind you

Maybe if you can just give the people behind you a heads up that two more people will be joing you in line, than that may smooth out the situation a bit. just so no one thinks that their cutting in front of the line.

I dont see why not, the only place this kind of thing is considered rude and also bugs the hell out of us, is here in the United Kingdom.

For years us Brits have been world leaders in civilized, stiff upper lipped queuing . ... and getting left behind!........lol

I would suggest all arriving and standing in the line for a few minutes together. It%26#39;s mildly annoying when you%26#39;ve got a couple in front of you that turns into 4 (or more) out of nowhere. But if the people around you know you%26#39;re 4 ahead of time, I can%26#39;t see it being bothersome if you swap out.

Really, it doesn%26#39;t matter. Someone might get annoyed by it, but they need to get over it. It will have zero effect on how long it takes them to get seated.

If you%26#39;re all eating together at one table it really doesn%26#39;t matter. But if you%26#39;re holding a place in line for 4 couples all requesting separate tables, well I%26#39;d get angry if I was behind you in line. I%26#39;d probably start calling you names and throwing things. But that%26#39;s just me.

Hey, what does it matter in the end. You%26#39;ll never see these people again, be as rude and tacky as you like. Vegas is the place for it. *wink*
