I have been searching all over the internet for the last month or so. I have been using sites such as kayak.com, travelocity, expedia, price line, etc. I also have went directly to hotel websites. A local travel agent is able to get me a trip to Las Vegas from Pittsburgh during the week of July 14-21 for 845 per person. We will be staying at the Flamingo and the flight is a non stop flight. The non stop flight is not a huge factor for myself, but it is for a friend who is traveling. If I go directly to the Flamingo site, We can get a room for 417 Per person. The cheapest I can find a direct flight from pittsburgh to Vegas is over 500 for round trip. That is insane! Can anyone give me some advice on if it is a good deal or not? Remember, that we def want to have a non stop flight out of pittsburgh. thanks!
not sure If I am getting a good deal?
hmmm, well it sounds like you%26#39;ve already done a lot of checking...
have you checked for hotel deals on fatwallet.com?
not sure If I am getting a good deal?
ya it%26#39;s not the room rates I am more worries about. We do want to stay at The Flamingo and it seems the room rates on the site are pretty cheap being at 417 per person for the week. I am just having a really hard time finding a decent priced flight out of Pittsburgh. I stated that direct flight was a must, but if I was able to find a flight under 330 round trip that only had one stop then I would be willing to take that also. Pittsburgh must be really expensive to fly out of. I am just wondering from other peoples experience, if it is worth paying a little extra to fly non stop?
Southwest has a N/S for $416.30 pp round trip. Be careful with your terminology.....a non stop is not the same as a direct flight. A direct flight will stop (but you don%26#39;t get off).
For hotel...check Harrah%26#39;s for the Hot Deals.
Good Luck!!
Does Allegiant air fly out of there?? If so, check them.
i would pay extra to fly nonstop.
the less time on a plane, the better.
now, if it was a HUGE price difference, i might consider taking a flight with stops, but my opinion is that my time is worth money as well.
Hi,
This sounds like an incredibly bad deal. Vegas in the summer is not for the faint of heart, so the casinos usually lower their rates to get people in. This theory does not, however, reflect the airline industry and the fluctuation of their fares. Try one other website that I had some luck with when booking a room. vegashotelspecial.com
Good luck.
If anybody who stayed at the Flamingo last july could give you an idea as to what they paid and when rates came down you may be better able to gauge your options.
I know Bellagios rates dropped considerably last summer by up to $100 a night from their earlier advertised rates.
If you book with a travel agent your prices are fixed, book with hotel and if rates drop you can get reductions applied to you rates.
check the airfare from cleveland...the 2 hr drive might be worth it....
so using the harrah%26#39;s website to book a room does not seem like a good deal? I read alot of posts on here saying you should def book the room directly with the hotel you want to stay at. Is this not correct? Or are you saying that the travel agent deal of 845 per person is not a good deal. Remember, the travel agency deal includes a non stop flight which one poster already said they found one for 418 which in turns equals about the same price for the travel agent deal.
I kind of did some checking= Southwest-non stop was 450 pp
Us Air vacation package air and hotel was 808.51 pp- but didn%26#39;t say if it was nonstop.
Do you and your friend gamble? If so, I wouldn%26#39;t book a package. Book it all separately, use one player%26#39;s card account and see if you earn any comps (ya know, don%26#39;t play for comps)..maybe you can save a hundred bucks or something and your flight won%26#39;t seem so ridiculous. Also - the room rates may drop, although they really weren%26#39;t bad for 7 nights.- but if they do, you can get the lower rate by calling. It sounds like the flight is the problem Maybe some summer deals will be coming out soon??
Probably haven%26#39;t been of any help have I? :)
