Which is best for kids - ';Ka'; or ';Mystere';

My husband and I really want to see Ka, because we have heard incredible reviews (and we will be staying at the MGM, so it%26#39;s nice and convenient). However, I have heard other people say that Mystere would be better for our kids, who are 9 and 16.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! We are already going to watch ';O'; but while we are there I would like to see another Cirque show, but can%26#39;t decide which one.

Thanks!!

I think Mystere would be a better option. Mystere is very upbeat, bright, and easy to follow, whereas Ka looks a little dark and intense.

Which is best for kids - ';Ka'; or ';Mystere';

I%26#39;ve only seen Ka and it owuld be hard for a kid to follow and an be a bit dark

I have seen O, Mystere(twice), Love and Ka. My favorite continues to be Mystere. It would be perfect for your children -or anyone else. I did not like Ka at all so I couldn%26#39;t recommend it. My vote is definitely for Mystere.

If nothing else, Mystere is a lot cheaper than Ka.

You don%26#39;t have to get the best seats for Mystere. Don%26#39;t get seats too near ths stage. Things are going on around and above you. In order to enjoy it without being uncomfortable you should be farther back. The cheaper seats are great.

My wife and I saw Mystere earlier this week and would recommend it to anyone. Imagine being at a circus without animals with great music, comedy, and thrills. Even though we were seated at the rear of the venue we could see just fine.

You might want to checkout Tickets4ToNite at the Fashion Show Mall for discounted tickets which are posted around noon of each day.

Mystere if you want them to enjoy it.

Ka if you want them to fall asleep.

Ka is harder to follow and I think might seem boring to a child as it is more story oriented.

Thanks for the replies, looks like it%26#39;s Mystere!

I have seen Mystere, ';O';, LOVE and Ka!.

Mystere remains my favorite and Ka! is my least favorite. I%26#39;ve seen Mystere three times, ';O'; twice and LOVE twice.

Definitely Mystere!

Mystere

Enjoy!!

Choices for best comedy club ?

Wanting a relaxing fun night out . Are the comedy clubs worth going to ? Thanks

Choices for best comedy club ?

Improv at Harrah%26#39;s gets national acts. See who%26#39;s playing when you are in town and have a good time.

Choices for best comedy club ?

Thanks for your help

My GF and I really enjoy the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana and will be going again in April on our next visit.

I like Comedy Stop at the Trop and find it has a much better atmosphere than The Improv but, as with all comedy clubs, it%26#39;s down to the acts who are appearing rather than the venue.

My friend and I really liked Second City Theater improv show over at the Flamingo. The players were all very talented and the show was mostly hilarious. This would be a good option if there are no really good stand up acts in town but you stil want comedy.

Another recommendation for ComedyStop at the Trop. 3 comedians - we laughed hard the entire 90 minutes! Can%26#39;t wait to go back in June.

Video Poker Questions?

What is full pay Video Poker and how do you recognize a full pay machine? Also, are there any good VP machines at the Orleans or any of the Strip Casinos?

Video Poker Questions?

A pay schedule is listed on all VP machines. A full pay jacks or better machine(there are different kinds of VP machines) would be a 9/6 machine. For each coin put in it will pay out 50 coins for a straight flush; 25 coins for 4 of a kind; 9 coins for a full house; 6 coins for a flush; 4 for a straight; 3 for 3 of a kind; 2 for a pair and 1 for jacks or better. Always play maximum(usually 5 coins) because if you hit a RF the machines will only pay 250 coins for one coin in but 4000 coins if you put in 5 coins. The New Frontier has full pay JOB machines that pay 4 sevens like a straight flush.

I play VP at the Gold Coast(can get a shuttle from the Orleans), new Frontier and Sam%26#39;s Town

A poll of Canadians going to Vegas in May?

Sorry I am not going in May but I am addicted to Vegas and check this forum daily. We are doing Maui for 2 weeks in May but I am looking more forward to Vegas in October. Have a great time.

A poll of Canadians going to Vegas in May?

Wow I am so jealous..........some of you are going for a week and I am only there for 4 days this time * wahhhhhhhh*

I am taking my daughter for her 21st birthday from May 8 - 11. Staying at the MGM Grand.

Suggestion for parents taking kids to Vegas.

Just a suggestion, as I was just reading a trip report done with kids. Our son has those '; Heelys';, the shoes with wheels. He can cover ALOT of ground, with little or no effort. He cruises everywhere, and at the end of some pretty big days, as my wife and I are quite active, he is right there with us. Airports, Disneyland, malls, etc. He doesnt complain at all. Its almost fun for him to just ';cruise'; around. Some people at stores(Wal Mart comes to mind) dont appreciate them, so he just walks when asked, but mostly, they have been ';tripsavers'; for us.

I highly recommend them. And he WILL be using them on his 1st trip to Vegas !

Suggestion for parents taking kids to Vegas.

    Hi,

Just make sure he doesn%26#39;t wheel himself into a passing car! The Vegas Striop isn%26#39;t conducive to smooth travelling. You have to stop at every intersection and wait for the traffic lights; specifically, for the white ';walk'; light. You may want to tell him to practice his braking skills!

Suggestion for parents taking kids to Vegas.

Be careful on the sidewalks...they are crowded and unpredicatable with that many people. The intersections are VERY dangerous when the mass of people surge forward!

depending on where you plan on using these they may not be practical. traffic walking the strip is congested, slow, unpredictable and hard to navigate in places. flooring surfaces change often. be careful

Be careful of those Heelys. They can be dangerous. Alot of places are banning them because of injuries.

My son%26#39;s friend wore them on Halloween and he fell so hard down a hill we thought he broke his hip. After that, the night was over much to the kids%26#39; dismay. He is definitely off the invite list next Halloween - lol.

I asked my daughter if my grandkids had these, i didn%26#39;t think so. she says never will - they are unsafe, she is very responsible and wouldn%26#39;t dream of letting them have these. some reading for you - any search engine will give you more.

I would think carrying the safety gear suggested by the manufacturer to LV would be a detriment - why lug all this around. from www.heelys.com SAFETY GEAR %26amp; TIPS

Should protective gear be worn with Heelys?

Yes. While protective gear is not required, we highly recommend its use when the wheels are in the shoes. The helmet and protective pads retail for $19.99 (tax not included) each at select retailers.

    http://www.toysafety.org/pdf/sunfun2006.pdf

Great, now not only do we ha ve to navigate around strollers, we have kids on wheels.

We do not allow them in our elementary school. The administrators removes the wheels (something that seems very easy to do) and the children may get them back at the end of the day-with a warning not to wear them again.

I%26#39;m with you, damama. I think heely%26#39;s are more of a pain in the butt than anything. I see kids with them in the stores all the time, and I can%26#39;t believe their parents let them roll around all over the place. I have almost been knocked down too many times to count. I think it%26#39;s fine for kids to use them outside, but not indoors or in congested places.

oh and save the slings and arrows. I don%26#39;t hate kids - have two of my own and teach them (or try). I just think there is a time and place for everything on wheels.

heh....you will get NO positive comments if your kid is wheeling around on his heelys in Vegas...and honestly, if you come during a crowded time, he won%26#39;t be able to utilize them much anyway.

You need to understand, your child, cannot be unattended in Vegas. EVER. If you are planning on jogging thru the casino%26#39;s to keep up with him, well, where are you staying because I%26#39;ll want my camera handy!

I have raised three children here, the youngest is now 11, and they never get further away than the stretch between holding my hand and theirs when on the strip or in a casino. But you know, I%26#39;m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt here, so, I%26#39;d love to hear your trip report upon your return, especially where the heely%26#39;s worked best : )

  • oil companies
  • Downtown Hotesl

I know this has been asked before but just verifying the information. We always stay on the strip but going for a long weekend and want to stay downtown for a change. I know they have lower limit tables all the time. I did a search on TA and people say the top three hotesl are Golden Nugget, Fitzgeralds and ElCortez. Can you verify these or do you have any favs? Thanks in advance for the help.

    Downtown Hotesl

I have stayed at the Nugget and 4Queens. Both were good clean rooms. The Nugget rooms are a little larger, but for the price I would stay at 4Queens.

    Downtown Hotesl

Golden Nugget is far and away the best and nicest hotel Downtown.

I%26#39;ve stayed at the Fitz four times and have alway felt comfortable. The rooms are nice but could stand some revenovations. The ElCorttez has recenty renovated some of their room. I%26#39;vecan%26#39;t recommend the El; only because I haven%26#39;t stayed there. You might want to think aboutMain Street Station.

blagger is correct. Golden Nugget is widely considered to be a step above the other downtown properties - and the rates often reflect that. Generally speaking, when it comes to the downtown properties price gives you a rough idea of the relative quality of the properties, although of course there are always discounts.

I find Main Street Station to be totally adequate and have stayed there several times..

Out of the 3 the Nuggets is best. 4 Star as opposed to 2 stars.

But what makes the GN better than that rest? Marble in the bathroom. Fancier food service? Other than the new pool, what is the GN giving me that I%26#39;m not getting at other downtown joints?

I%26#39;ve stayed at the GN before, but didn%26#39;t see the point. If I wanted to pay that much, I might as well stay on the strip. Personally, I like the Vegas Club. East to get in and out of, rooms are fine, prices dirt cheap (note - I haven%26#39;t stayed in a year or two and I%26#39;ve heard a few reports of lagging maintenance).

Now maybe with the new pool there will be a reason to stay at the GN again. I%26#39;ll have to check it out.

Most people here are going to say the Nugget is the best hotel in Downtown, which it probably is, but not by much. The Nugget is probably the biggest of all the Downtown hotels. We always stay at either the Main St. or the California. GREAT places to stay!!! The only thing is they%26#39;re not right on Fremont St. They%26#39;re about a block away.

I agree about the California and the Main Street!!

We always stay at the Cal or Main Street as well. We also like the Nugget and the 4 Queens.
